Building A Sustainable Energy Future: Toshiba's Made-In-India T&D Products Lead The Way Towards Clean Energy.

India’s energy consumption has been growing at an exponential rate, driven by factors such as urbanization, industrialization, growing population and rising living standards. As India continues to strive towards achieving its development goals, meeting the rising energy demand while reducing carbon emissions remains a key challenge. Although the Government of India is increasingly adopting renewable energy sources to combat carbon emissions, an efficient transmission and distribution (T&D) of energy remains crucial for ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy grid. The T&D losses is a persistent problem in the Indian power sector and needs a speedup the complete overhauling of the T&D system to guard against losses.

Toshiba is a world leader in the supply of integrated solutions for energy T&D, and can help India in establishing an efficient T&D network for both conventional and renewable energy sources. Toshiba systems effectively control T&D in order to deliver reliable electricity from power plants to industries, transportation systems to agriculture and to the homes. Toshiba has established Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) Private Limited (TTDI) as its global manufacturing hub for T&D business. TTDI is committed to reducing its environmental impact through its sustainable technologies.

Since its inception, TTDI has delivered its T&D products and solutions to conventional and renewable energy projects in India. TTDI’s advanced technology & processes, high-level background integration, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, massive production capacity and a highly skilled workforce yield high-quality T&D equipment that are made-in-India. TTDI is continuously focusing on skill development, constant product improvement and to upgrade manufacturing capability by way of automation for higher efficiency to deliver distinctive advantage with a shorter delivery time.

In its quest towards continuous product improvement, TTDI is deploying new advanced manufacturing technologies to continuously improve the Quality, Efficiency, Reliability, and Speed-to-market of the product. To achieve this, TTDI relies on process automation for productivity improvement and digitalization of data to improve the process capability and constant improvement of supply chain

To meet the high volume market demand in and overseas , TTDI is aiming to align its resources and expand capacity in line with the increased opportunities. Through Toshiba Group companies around the world, TTDI will further consolidate global footprint and grow its exports from India.

Advancing Sustainable Revolution with TTDI's Green Technologies and Solutions

TTDI offers a range of innovative and reliable technologies for the renewable energy sector like Photovoltaic (PV) Inverters, Power Transformers, Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Inverter Duty Transformers.

TTDI is focusing on Enhancement of Gas Insulated Switchgears, Transformers, Control Relay & Substation Automation System solutions to applications in Energy (Renewable sector), Data Centre for Smart Cities, and for Industry segments like Petro Chemical Plants, Refineries and Railway.

TTDI's GIS Solutions for a Smarter and More Efficient Energy Grid

The adoption of GIS technology can play a crucial role in modernizing India's power transmission and distribution infrastructure, improving energy efficiency, and contributing to the country's sustainable development goals. TTDI recently won GIS orders for outdoor installation at Xeldem in Goa and at Solar and Wind Renewable Project in Andhra Pradesh.

Toshiba GIS requires far less space and is resistant to the damages caused by salty environment, sand dust storm, and humid atmosphere. The performance of GIS under these severe conditions offers high reliability. Toshiba has traditionally manufactured outdoor GIS with features that can withstand harsh external environments. Since 2017, TTDI has been manufacturing several types of GIS like 400kV, 220kV, 132kV and 66kV.

TTDI remains committed to actively contribute to the development of transmission and distribution networks and the introduction of green energy in India FOR A NEW DAY”
