16 Sep 2015 - NEW DELHI: Acquiring majority control in UEM India Private Limited (UEM), an international
water services company, by Toshiba Corporation (Toshiba) for its enhancing water management
business in India, Toshiba India Private Limited (TIPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba, and
UEM group today announced the appointment of Mr. Koichi Matsui, 41, from Toshiba Corporation
as the Chairperson and Managing Director of UEM, effective immediately.
Mr. Matsui will assume responsibilities for managing UEM including - developing, driving and
implementing business strategies and solutions, along with Mr. Krishan Kshetry, Promoter, UEM,
to expand the Company's business in India and abroad.

Mr. Matsui, a post graduate in Division of Environmental Science & Technology from Kyoto
University, will be based in New Delhi. Starting his career in Toshiba as an electrical engineer for
water and wastewater treatment plant in 1999, he acquired knowledge of process engineering for
desalination and industrial waste water treatment plant, as well as project management. Since his
joining, he has played a vital role in successful completion and operation of over 30 water treatment
projects in Japan and abroad. In 2014, he joined UEM as a Director/Chief Alliance Officer and has
promoted managing their business.
